Very long rasp (approx. 120 cm; width up to 5 cm) with both ends ending or sticking in a handle.
The tool is handled by two men when grating heavy red-hot iron. For example, when the axles of stretched vehicles are delivered in two pieces and the blacksmith has to weld them together at the correct length for the wheelwright. [MOT]
