Thatching knife
This thatcher's knife is a large knife (approx. 50 cm long) with a rounded edge that resembles the fish chopping knife but with a firmer blade. It is used by the roofer to trim reed or straw and he can occasionally use it to cut the twine of the reed bundles or the ribbon straw of the sheaves, similar to the sheaf-knife. [MOT]
Seal comb
The seal comb is a metal, elongated (approx. 15 cm) comb with relatively short (approx. 5-7 mm) and fine (approx. 1 mm) teeth that the furrier uses to process short-haired or shaved furs, including seals and lions, to comb out irregularities and to thin out the branches that have been made. Tie wire twister
The tie wire twister is primarily used, among others by the farmer and the miller, to close (large) bags with a thin (approx. 1 mm) iron wire that is provided with a loop at both ends where the hook-shaped end of the twister is picked up. By pulling the (spring back) handle over the screw thread, the binding wire is twisted together. The steel bender also uses this tool to bind the reinforcing bars - eg floor slabs - together into a net. A wire is tied around every intersection. Round bucket that widens upwards (diam. Approx. 20-30 cm) made of wood, (galvanized) iron or plastic, attached to a long (approx. 200 cm) wooden handle. This tool is used to draw water, also manure from the cesspool. To be distinguished from the liquid manure scoop used to scoop out of the bear tub. [MOT]
Absinth spoon
Spoon made of silver-plated, tin-plated or nickel-plated metal - approx. 15 to 18 cm long - with holes used to sweeten absinthe. In the spoon - which is placed horizontally on a glass of absinthe - some sugar is placed and sprinkled with water. Another model is a spoon without holes, the handle of which is interrupted by a surface with holes. After the absinthe has been sugared, you can stir it with a spoon. [MOT]
