In September 2017, the MOT organized its first internship of timber framing and wattle and daub. In five days' time, spread over three weeks, the participants, together with two experienced teachers, built a timber-framed shelter for bees at the Liermolen.
This first internship was a great success and was repeated in 2019. The aim is that each participant goes through all the steps of the construction process, from hewing beams with a broad axe, drawing the timber frame and cutting the wood joints, erecting the wooden frame and filling it up with wattle and daub. Also you learn how to split the wooden shingles for the roof covering. Some basic experience with woodworking is preferred, but not necessary to sign up for this internship.
